What is the Book Barn?

In the grounds of the Upper Room building through the grey gates is a barn and within are stored books, cds & dvds in library style.

We have a large collection of both fiction & non-fiction books. Within the non -fiction section there are books on cookery, gardening, D.I.Y, health, children’s section, leisure pursuits ,travel, books in French, history, art and biographies. We also have a large collection of cds which include all genres ie classical, jazz, & popular. We have a large selection of DVDs for all age groups. Some vinyl.

Where is Bertric Buree? / How will I find the Book Barn?

North of Riberac on the D708 towards Verteillac.

When entering the village look for the Salle de Fete building and opposite you will see a sign for the Upper Room. Cross over the road and walk towards the church and the Book Barn is through the grey gates (30metres away) and inside you will see the entrance to the Upper Room on the first floor and the Book Barn is immediately through these gates on the left.

When is the Book Barn open?

Tuesday (10:00am to 4:00pm), Wednesday (10:30-12:00), and on Sunday mornings (10:30-12:00). However, it is always advisable to contact Martin Garfoot : thebertricbureebookbarn@gmail.com or (+44 7768 537 402) the day before your visit to confirm.

How much are the books?

All books, cds & dvds are free but we suggest a minimum of 50 centimes per item.

Do you take Books CDs & DVDs?

We are able to receive donated books, cds & dvds on prior arrangement only when space permits.

Where do the donations go?

We only ask for donations which we would ask to be put in the Honesty Box. Donations go to the Chaplaincy of Aquitaine, which is totally self funding and we welcome your support.
