About our church community

The Church of Sainte Nathalène (24200, near Sarlat)

Our church is located in the village of Ste Nathalène some 8 kms east of Sarlat-la-Canéda. The congregation at Ste Nathalène started after a bi-lingual Carol Service in 2004. Monthly services began in January 2005, with weekly services during July and August in conjunction with ICS. As our Church grew, building on the success of the ICS programme, we were able to independently manage the weekly summer services.

We now hold services on the first and third Sundays from September to mid-July and weekly services from mid-July to late August. We have a regular core congregation of 14 who all play their part in the life of this family of God. We are joined by several others who come when they can, plus second home owners and tourists. We seek to shine the light of Christ for all to see. The summer services have a lively family feel but still revere our Lord God Almighty. They are greatly enhanced by the work done with the children. Activities are available for the younger members of our congregation and they are encouraged to take an active part in our worship.

Our congregation

comes from a wide area of the Dordogne, Corrèze, and the Lot. All newcomers will receive a very warm welcome from your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Those of all Christian denominations are welcome to attend our services.

We have a modern style of worship, encouraged by our musicians. We are a lively congregation with a love for offering worship in Spirit and truth to our Father. Church of England forms of worship are used for all services; open prayers of thanksgiving and the sharing of testimonies are encouraged. Prayer ministry is available after the service.

Grateful for our church family

We delight in praising the Lord together, with our singing and praying resounding around the church, and hopefully beyond the doors, (which are always open). We finish our services with coffee and biscuits, and then set up our tables outside if possible, for our Bring and Share lunches, which give us a chance to catch up with old and new friends, enjoying Christian fellowship around a bountiful table.

We look forward to welcoming visitors again this summer, it is wonderful to share worship with those visiting this beautiful area, that we are fortunate to live in. We are grateful for the many worship leaders who travel to lead services for us.

Video

We are delighted to share this short video with you: “The stones make the church building, the family of God make the church without walls.”
